Hi Ronny and Group!

I'm back from surgery in MO on the 24th and am doing well I think. I was in

the hospital 5.25 days after surgery. Everyone at MO was very nice. I felt

they managed my pain well--in my mind the pain part was real but foggy and I

don't remember much. I am taking only ibuprofen now but I am stiff and

sore/head pressure between doses--not bad at all though.

My e-mail works but somehow I can't get to any web sites right now. Would

you be able to get me back on the group e-mail somehow? I can't remember who

is in charge of subscription.

It looks like I am going to have at least some significant relief from my

worst symptoms if everything stays as it is now. If I feel this good 10

days post-op......maybe I will feel a lot better yet in a few weeks. In many

ways I am already more comfortable and healthy than before surgery.

My gait is normal again for the small amount of walking I am doing. This is

a huge improvement!!! I have a gag reflex again and it seems like I am

breathing better some of the time. Many other little oddities seem gone. I

hope this all is permanent.

I got my staples out today and was able to have a comfortable nap. I read a

book this weekend. I try to spend most of my time on the couch. Is this

normal? I have felt very good for short spurts after rest, but generally I

am very fatigued (not sleeping comfortably yet) and my neck/head is stiff.

Post op instructions are pretty strict to avoid springing a leak. They said

I would have days when I felt well and would want to be very active and days

that I wouldn't want to get out of bed and that it is important to not be

too active even when I feel up to it.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishing when we left. I

welcome any post-op advice you all have for me.

Thankful for all of you
