Guest guest
I have seen what the Femoral Head (hip bone) looks like in people with AVN. It is not a pretty sight. We did a hip replacement in a 34 year old guy who was an alcoholic. His bones were a mess. I have seen 80 year old hips look better than his!! Most of the AVN patients that we have done surgery on were men. Majority of them were do to alcohol. Then the others were of unknown cause. They looked more like degenerative joint disease (DJD) on plain xrays......Marina > NIAMS > Health Topics > > " Questions and Answers About Avascular Necrosis " : > > http://www.niams.nih.gov/hi/topics/avascular_necrosis/ > > > > > > I'll tell you where to go! > > Mayo Clinic in Rochester > http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester > > s Hopkins Medicine > http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org
