If you go to egroups and pull up the PSC group site look under database. There is a graph for symptoms for those of us who have filled it out. Guest guest
You feel bloated and your rings are too tight to wear. Plus you press on your shin bone and the indention stays. Plus, you jump on the scale and it can say you've gained 5-10 lbs. overnight!! Judy > > > > HI: > > > > I'm curious. Does anyone else have fluid retention? Guest guest
Hello Judy, I haven't got any rings so that indicator is out <g>. When I press on my shin bone it doesn't indent at all; the bone is just under the skin. I haven't put weight on in 5 years. I reckon I don't have fluid retention. Phew, another weight of my mind! <bg> Steve.
Guest guest
QUESTION I am a little confused about fluid retention is it when you press on the skin and your fingers leave a lighter spot than your actual skin color like pressing on a plastic bag with liquid that liquid disappears for a minute but comes back or is it when you press on the skin and it's like pressing dough it sinks but eventually rises again??????????? Boy do I feel stupid trying to explain stuff ^^^^Maybe because I talk with my hands so much I need fewer words now I just can't seem to communicate : ) Tricia
Guest guest
Judy, Unrelated to psc as Dan is the one with psc-I have discovered since starting to take 25,000 iu twice daily of beta carotene that it acts as a natural diaretic among other things. You would need to research on the effects on the liver before taking it, but it works great for me with no side effects, and it is better for you than vitamin A which can build to toxic levels. I have had it for about 5 years and have to take Lasix every day. It still doesn't all go away. I have pitting edema. It would be interesting for us all to post all of our ailments to see how many of us have the same thing. Guest guest
Trisha: Mine does both, but mostly I notice the part where it is like pressing on a ball of dough and your imprint stays. This happens only directly on my shin bone. Guest guest
Rosie: I'll ask my doctor if I can take beta carotene. Thanks for your recommendation.
