Guest guest
How about parasites? Guardia esp. comes to mind. Common transmission from pets to humans AND babies to adults/other humans, maybe even the dog. Second: Sulfite sensitivity? Rotten egg/burnt matches sulfur smell is common with this. If he's eating typical American Diet, it's often full of sulfites. By the way, does her REALLY believe that marijuana " covers up " the smell of tobacco!? lol Jan Patenaude, RD, CLT In a message dated 7/1/2008 10:29:49 A.M. In fact, the taste and smell resembles feces. ER nurses have confirmed the description of the odor. His GI specialist has had him on antibiotics for many months. There is no change in the pattern. Tonight, he informed me that his dog is having the same type of burping. So far, the dog has not had the other symptoms. Of course, he refused to consider taking the dog to the veterinarian'I have a male pa Here is the pattern. The burping starts and within about one hour he feels very nauseated and like he must vomit. He begins to vomit quite violently; at the same time, he has severe diarrhea. He does drink sports drinks with aspartame, corn syrup, fructose, and food coloring. His nutrition is founded on fast food lunches, no breakfast, and the efforts of his wife who provides dinner. He also smokes marijuana about four times a day when he is feeling stress or to cover up the odors of cigarette smoking. For several years, needless to say, I have recommended that he stop these and other activities. He is always on the verge of being fired from his employment; he has protected status at work due to his disabilities. This person is about 38 years old, has some Asperger's behaviors, and has had multiple mild to moderate TBIs. Fortunately, none of the TBIs have been recent. He originally was referred for significant rage (and police) problems and for dissociating during most or all of the rage episodes. About two years ago, he was injured in his small car when a dump truck squashed most of it, leaving him scrambling for the shelf area behind the back seat. Progress is slowly being made. He is a bright person who earned a college degree despite his drug and alcohol habits. He no longer uses street drugs, except for cigarettes and marijuana; he did stop drinking except for an occasional beer. He lacks insight into the effect of his behaviors on others. His parents are well educated and are devotedly committed to traditional medicine. He lives in a house with his wife and toddler daughter. There is significant denial about the possibility of toxins in the household, yard, etc. He does walk his dog twice a day in a suburban neighborhood. He does not engage in any outdoor sports. I know this is a bizarre situation. I have suspected toxins. I just thought one of you might have a useful observation or experience to share. His symptoms have repulsed ER staff members. Thanks!
