Guest guest
Jennie, I have been on the Naprosyn in the past. In fact, just got off of it. The thing to remember is make sure you have eaten before you take it. This is an anti-inflammatory and can tend to bother stomachs. Also, refrain from aspirin - the mixture can cause ulcers. As we all know, Tylenol is the best for R/A. What is the Humira? I was on MTX but it did not work so no I am on Plaquinel and Ambrel, Folic Acid and Prednisone. The Ambrel is an injection. How do you take the Humira? Have a great day Keep up the good work Jennie G <xponder70@...> wrote: Hi everyone. I haven't been around much lately. I had a rheumy appt today and I am now going to alternate 1mg prednisone one day, nothing the next day for 4 weeks then I'm off! I've been on 1mg daily for the last 11 weeks, and so far weaning off slowly has been going very well. I am so excited. When I'm off the prednisone then I'll have the 15mgs of mtx every Saturday and Humira every other week. It seems to be such a psychological boost to not have to take drugs daily. The only thing I'll be taking daily is supplements (vitamin, folic acid, calcium). I am so excited! I don't go back to the rheumy for 3 months! I've never gone that long without an appt since this whole RA business started. It's always been 4-8 weeks in between visits, then the last one was 11 weekend and now we can count it in months! : ) : ) : ) He gave me a prescription for Naprocyn (sp?) in case I have some pain after I stop taking the prednisone. Anyone taking this drug? Any advice? Jennie

Guest guest
Thanks! Humira is one of the biologicals. It's taken in conjunction with MTX. I started Humira when the mtx was not cutting it any more (it worked for about 6 months, then the RA progressed). Humira is also an injection. I had not heard of Ambrel before. Is that combination working for you? I am doing well on the Humira/mtx combo. I just seem to have flares if the weather changes or if I over do it. Guest guest
That is great news, Jennie. I know I was soooo happy when I got off the prednisone last summer. When I first started having random joint pain, a couple of years ago, my primary doctor gave me naprosyn. It's the same as the OTC Aleve, just a higher dose. It raised my blood pressure, but he had me taking it twice a day, everyday. My rheumie switched me to Celebrex and the bp problem went away. But I've heard of others who never had that problem with naprosyn. > > Hi everyone. I haven't been around much lately.
