lin,

YES, when there is something wrong with your thyroid it definitely can be a

cause of vulvodynia. I know this because one of my gynos had to test my

thyroid to see if it was normal. My gyno said that if my test came back

positive for an abnormal thyroid then I could just take medicine for it and

my vulvar pain should just go away. She said that she has seen women get

cured from vulvodynia by fixing their thyroid. Unfortunately, there was

nothing wrong with my thyroid. So I can rule that one out.

Sincerely,

a

Hello Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else is Hypo-Thyroid? Although I've had an

uncomfortable feeling in the vaginal area for about 18 years, my problems

worsened shortly after I began taking Synthroid for my thyroid problem

about 1 1/2 years ago. Three different docs told me no way could this be

related. In my opinion why on earth couldn't it be related?

Hi Marilyn,

I'm hypothyroid and take thyroxine. I was diagnosed a few years before the

vulvodynia started.
