Hi Snowdrift,

I am also on MTX and take it 5 days a week for RA and Sjogrins. I aso have

Fibromyalgia which I am sure most of us here have but in 97 I was hit with a

very bad case of Bi-polar disorder. These meds for SJO and RA I believe are

throwing off my BP meds. I have been having AT LEAST 2 fatigue days a week and I

am getting so depressed over it. I will let you know what my Rheuemy says

tomorrow when I go see her. I am also on Plaquenil. We'll find out also on my

blood work as my liver tests were not normal but as to " normal " I don't know

what they meant by that.

Sorry to respond so late to this but I have been down and out with flares and I

am going to talk to my Dr and tell her I really need some answers. I am 46 and

I can't even get my dishes done or my laundry done! That's deplorable! And I

have a small farm here with my husband to run and my elderly parents to run over

to help at least once a week since I am the only child left in the state. I

feel so darn giulty I can't get to them when I am sick. Do any of you feel you

just want to throw in the towel??? Some days I have just had it!!!

Sorry for the whining and complaining but I am just when I get better mentally I

get worse phisically and really I haven't even told you the half of it all. I

pray for you all as I read your stories and pray for strength for you all and

for hope.

Hugs,

Nan

Hello,

I saw the rheumy this week and discussed my fatigue--particularly

after taking MTX--with her. She suggested increasing the folic acid

from 1 mg. to 2-3 mg. the day before, the day of, and the day after

taking MTX. Some people take 2-3 mg. every day, she said. So I am

hopeful that I will have a better Friday. It would be great to redeem

what has become my weekly " sick day " (sick with fatigue only).

Anybody here get an energy boost from more folic acid?

Sierra

I've never heard of taking it more than once a week! Are you sure

you're taking it as prescribed? What is the dose?
