Guest guest
Hi ,Thank you!> The great thing about living with Aspergers and being an Aspie is that we tend to be very different than the "status quo" in that we don't like to be put into certain boxes or anything else. That's what I keep telling myself. It's kind of like receiving a "boost," so that you can see over the crowd (while perhaps missing quite a bit of what people in the crowd are doing). It gives you a better view, but you still have to figure out what you are seeing. Strange planet. Very strange.> I have had the opportunity to meet folks in the LBGTQ community and found them to be wonderful people for the most part. Just like anyone else, there's always a few bad apples in every bunch.I've met a lot in the past, although I haven't been directly involved in the TG community for 3 years now, since I went back to work (following the common pattern of transitioning and then losing my job) There were many people with major problems. I suspect that many had been abused as children (and thereafter). But it was very accommodating of differences -- not only gender variations but also "social variations" such as Asperger's. It's the only place I ever felt like I really could fit in. But SO many problems. Each new person arrived with a tale of woe, or so it sometimes seemed. After a while you started to notice that the stories repeat.I noticed that a certain small fraction of people in the TG community showed outward signs of being on the autistic spectrum. I even discovered a Yahoo group for such people -- TransgenderPDD.--
