Guest guest
I noticed the pins and needles in hands and feet symptom in the latest afib poll about afib symptoms. I have been thinking that was a symptom from the beta blocker, not the afib itself. Am I wrong? I asked my less than wonderful doc this week and he said they were from the beta blocker. Has anyone heard differently? It's one of the reasons I am trying to get to a lower dosage of the beta blocker - not only pins and needles but intermittent pains in the fingers and arms that I think are maybe spasms of the blood vessels. They exist even when my pulse is regular.
Guest guest
I'm really interested in the pins and needles question too... no one ever said anything to me about being tied to the beta-blockers; my cardiologist even sent me to a nerve specialist. I thought it was the amiodarone but I'm off that and I still get the sensation almost every day (it doesn't last too long if I get up and walk around). > I noticed the pins and needles in hands and feet symptom in the > latest afib poll about afib symptoms. Jim, I have been on the reduced dosage (1/4 tablet of Toprol xl, down from 1/2 tablet) for two complete days now, and I have no pins and needles sensations any more. Also the abnormal response to cold seems to be gone - no more having my hand having a 1 in 4 chance of going west when I take something out of the refrigerator, and no more paroyxsms of shivering. I was having persistent pain in a little finger - that's 99% gone. Also the slightly heavy and constricted feeling in my chest is gone. Also the depression and apathy. Okay, so for me the question I have to ask my doc is - I feel so much better at this reduced dosage, what are the risk/benefits to me of taking a beta blocker. Since my internist is awful about answering questions, I am going to make an appointment with the cardiologist and ask him.
Guest guest
All, I was told that it was the Amiodarone that I get Pins and Needles but I have been off of that for nearly 18 months.. I have found that it goes in Phases. Sometimes I have been woken up at night with both of my arms feeling they were not there. I have also found when its cold two finger get numb at the very tips. I wonder if its the Wafarin??? I am now on Dofetilide but still get this every now and again. I get lots of side effects though so I just do not know. regards ********************************************************************** This message may contain information which is confidential or privileged.
