Guest guest Posted July 27, 2004 Report Share Posted July 27, 2004 ~~~~~A SUMMER OF REFRESHING COOLERS~~~~~ Non-alcholic Pina Colada ~ Ingredients: 1/3 to ½ can pineapple juice concentrate, ½ cup milk, 1/4 cup sugar, ½ tsp coconut extract, ice and lemon-lime soda. Place pineapple juice concentrate, milk, sugar, and extract in blender. Fill blender with ice and pour lemon-lime soda to the top of the ice. Blend until smooth. Fruit Smoothie ~ Place in blender: 1 12 oz can frozen fruit juice (berry juices are best), ½ cup nonfat milk, 1/4 cup sugar, 6 oz ginger ale and 1/4 tsp coconut extract or ½ tsp almond extract. Fill blender the rest of the way with ice and blend until smooth. Mango Yogurt ~ Place in blender; 1 mango cut in pieces, 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt, 1 tbs sugar, and 2 ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Add milk or more ice to thin, if desired. Papaya Milkshake: ~ Ingredients: Chunked papaya, milk, sugar and vanilla. Place papaya in blender and add about the same amount of milk as papaya. Add vanilla and sugar to taste. Blend and serve immediately. For variety, add strawberries and substitute some orange juice for some of the milk. Strawberry-banana Shake ~ Blend orange juice, strawberries and banana with ice in blender. Frozen strawberries or bananas or other fruits may also be used. Be creative. Fresh or Frozen Lemonade Drinks for larger groups. Lemon-lime Cooler: Make a half gallon of lemonade by mixing 1 cup lemon juice with 1 cup sugar, add water to make ½ gallon. Chill. Mix with 2-liter bottle of chilled lemon-lime soda. Very refreshing....serves a dozen or more. Ice Cream Punch - Place 1 cup lemon juice and 1 cup sugar in a 2 quart container. Fill to top with water and chill. When ready to serve, spoon 2 qts vanilla ice cream into punch bowl by tablespoons. Slowly, pour one 2-liter bottle of lemon-lime carbonated soda down side of bowl. Stir gently. Pineapple-lemon-lime Cooler for a large group. Use fresh lemonade mix (1 cup lemon juice and 1 cup sugar, heated for a minute or two in microwave to dissolve sugar) or combine 1 12 oz can frozen lemonade, 1 32 oz can pineapple juice and two 2 liter bottles of 7-up. Pour over lots of ice. Fancy Frozen Fruit Drink For a Crowd 1 envelope raspberry Kool Aid (unsweetened) 1 cup sugar 5 cups cold water 1 6 oz can frozen lemonade (or make your own blend) 1 10 oz package frozen whole raspberries 1 can crushed pineapple with juice Lemon-lime or similar soda (add later) Freeze mixture of first 7 ingredients in ice trays or in blocks (can use clean milk cartons). Thaw partially before use and mash into slush. Then add one and a half bottle of soda.....if you double recipe - use 3 bottles of soda. ~ " We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.
