I experienced memory problems one time after converting to normal rhythm --

I had been in AF for 12 hours and it was a particularly bad episode. When I

converted I picked up the phone to call my husband at work and couldn't for

the life of me remember his cell phone number, which I had called at least

once every days for years. I had to call information for it. I felt foggy

and out-of-it for another 24 hrs. and was not able to work. This was only

once out of many episodes...

Regarding memory problems related to cardioversion, two reasons could be

reaction to anesthesia or possibly a stroke due to movement of blood that

settled in the atria (coagulation).

hello people

i have a history of reacuring a fib. I had hartsurgery

in 85 and 92. (i am a marfanpatient)

Three years ago i had my first flutter (age 39).

I was cardioverted about 6 times i think. The last year 3 times.

At the moment i am on sotalex (betablokcer) and tombacor.

My specialist tels me he will have to put me on cordarone if it

happens again. I have noticed that he is a bit reluctant to do this.

because of the sideeffects..I am not shure yet wht they are :-)

I am also on zestril 5 mg (bloodpressure)

For me it is reasuring to read that so many other people are dealing

with this.

Sometimes it is hard...having 2 metal valves in my body i hear every

wrong beet ...the smallest irregularity...Luckely my heartbeet is

never higer than 140 during a-fib.

i was wondering : Do you think that there is a correlation between

inr value and a-fib ? The last 2 times i had an inr from 6 and 8 !.

It is a mistery.

secondly...does somebody experience memoryproblems after havinjg been

reconverted ?

greetings from belgium europe

There's a link in the news folder on the link page relating to memory loss.
