No, none. I was determined to avoid them if at all possible. And it

turned out to be possible.

I've had problems in the past with various medications--novacaine works

in reverse for me--makes me unusally sensitive; aspirin & Tylenol have

no effect whatsoever in regard to alleviating pain (except for Tylenol 3

with codeine); I'm allergic to sulfa drugs (according to my mother--I

must have had some reaction when I was a kid); most NSAIDS (my

rheumatologist prescribed a succession of them when my fibromyalgia was

so bad) usually caused me to gain weight and didn't do anything for

pain. Consequently, I'm rather mistrustful of medication.

One of my diabetic dogs was on insulin. I knew how hard it was to

regulate her dosage and I didn't want to go through that for myself.
