Guest guest
Kat...I have been taking Doxepin at night for years and I love it. I get so nice and sleepy in the evening and go right to sleep. With the fibro, I never slept right through the night and Doxepin was the answer. Good luck, Judy
Guest guest
Kat, Wow! That's a lot of strong meds. But if you need them, you need them. I'm glad you were able to get something to help. Just remember to drink lots of water - not fluids, but water. Those meds can do a number on your kidneys and liver, and drinking lots of water helps keep them healthy. I've found that drinking water from sports bottles is the easiest way to drink lots of it. In a glass, you sip and sip and sip. But with a sports bottle, you put your head back, and can drink lots more easily. Glug, glug, glug!!! Dix [ ] Meds for pain I just started taking two meds for pain. I was on Vicodin for a year to a year and half. Guess the doctor thought I needed to change. Plus I told her how depressed I still was even though I am on medicine for that. I told her how I sometimes have a hard time sleeping and my legs are restless and of course all the other things about pain that goes along with the RA and other stuff one might have. I have OA and DDD so sometimes my back just hurts so bad. I can't stand more than about 5 or 10 minutes or I am about in tears. And going shopping at the mall just to be shopping. FORGET IT!!!! I can't do it anymore. I have to go in for what I am there for and leave. Thank God they do have seats there so that does help on my way in and out. Cause I do have to do that to keep going. At Walmart leaning on the buggy helps a little but if I have to stand long in line. Man am I in pain if it is too long. I went the other night close after I had taken one of my new pain medicines and it wasn't as bad but still hurt some. Anyway, my GP doctor took me off Vicodin and put me on Morphine every 12 hours as needed and on Oxycotin every 6 hours as needed. The Oxycotin she called it breakthrough medicine to take in between the Morphine when I may have pain in between. They both are the lowest doses they have as far as I know. So far I haven't had any side effects. I don't know what everyone else is on but so far these two meds are helping me. I take Doxepin at night to help me sleep and with that and the pain meds I seem to be sleeping a little better and for longer periods of time. I pray everyone here in this group can be on some kind of medicine for pain to help through those rough times. May everyone have a Wonderful weekend. God Bless, Kat
