Guest guest
I have stopped working and sleep 75% of the time, but still do not feel rested, my rheumatologist just tells me it is due to my RA. Any suggestions? I take several medications and have just started HUMIRA about 4 weeks ago. STILL SOOO TIRED.
Guest guest
My suggestion would be to have your doctor test you for depression and chronic fatigue. People with chronic pain are often depressed. One of the telltale signs is sleeping way too much. You might also want to call your pharmacist and ask how many meds you're taking cause drowsiness. If you'd like to know more about depression, let me know. I'm bipolar, and have been for at least 40 years. Guest guest
I take Provigil. It helps. I also take an immune system booster that is not prescription. Guest guest
The Humira did not help with my fatigue much. The only thing that I have found that helps is exercising. I can't walk much, but I can lift weights and work on the eliptical machine at the gym. My energy really dips if I don't do this. My mom does yoga and stretching exercises every day (she has had RA for over 20 years) and they really help her. She recently started lifting weights at the gym and this proves to me that anyone with RA can lift weights. If you could see her joint damage (which is not quite the right way to describe it, she actually has no joints in fingers and toes, her ankles and wrists are about to collapse, her feet and hands are not at all the correct shape, etc.). I was not even sure she'd be able to do anything at the gym but she did! And she feels so much better now. It's amazing that I can lift a hundred pounds (I weight about 97 lbs.) and it feels great, but I can't walk for 1/2 hour without severe foot pain. It proves can do a lot more with RA than we know, it's just important to give it a try and see. Guest guest
xponder70, thanks for the advise. I have recently stated swimming at the gyn to help with lower back pain, on top of the arthritis pain. I will check into doing extra exercises. gemini6849/ tlccedarville
