I already thought I had a winning combination as a volunteer with a small town EMS department--it needed doing, I was capable of doing it, and I liked to do it. Then I discovered I could actually get paid to do it! WOW! Life doesn't get much better than that! Seriously though, for a lot of us the things that Joanna and Ron have mentioned are the REASONS for doing what we do, and the pay is one of the perks we get.
