Guest guest
Hi Trudy: I ran out of Ativan at one point and had not taken it for three to four days. I had the extreme jitters - especially laying in bed. When I told him about not taking the Ativanm he gave me h****. He said that this was a mild case of*withdrawal*...yikes! He also said that this was a drug that a you must be weaned off - do not attempt to get off of it on your own. Just a suggestions you might want to ask him/her about. Ellen Re: chronic? Well, at least I know now what might be the cause of the jitters, and it is a relief that it is not my heart. Hopefully I am mostly thru the withdrawal, because I feel distinctly better, although not 100%. Amazing that 1-2 tablets a day could cause physical dependency. I think what I need to do is give things another week and see how they go. The remaining problem I have is shortness of breath, and I don't know if that is due to the remaining toprol, or anxiety, or might it be the remaining Avitan withdrawal... Did you have shortness of breath?

Well, at least now I understand what was going on, and thankfully it was not my heart or a long term panic problem. Hopefully I am mostly thru the withdrawal at this point. Amazing that 1-2 tablets a day could cause this. The remaining problem I have is shortness of breath, and I don't know if that is still a side effect of the toprol, even at its lower dose, or a heart thing (blood pressure and pulse are okay), or related to stopping the Ativan.
