Guest guest
After nearly 3 years of intense pain, I got my Medicaide and saved up for my co pays and began mtx in early Feb. I saw some immediate relief, - the pain relented immensely....(I have not ever been given pain meds, thats a whole nother story, I posted about it a little ways back here) I still had some swelling and sitffness, but- I took my family on our first ever vacation. WHile on vacation I realized I had NO swelling, no stiffness and no pain- that was in June. I think maybe, my life is full of stress, between my disabled kids and husband, and my best friend with melanoma, my mother with lung cancer and my Godfather with pancreatic cancer....I also think something inside my house is also contributing-----my lifestyle definetly needs some major overhauls..... We came home from vacation and I did awesome but gradually some stiffness and swelling returned....very gradually. ANd then dummy me missed some doeses of mtx. Now the pain is creeeping back, too. Yes the mtx helped me, I take just that orally and folic acid and nothing else except OTC ibuprofen sometimes. I considered stopping the mtx when I realized I missed doses- before the pain crept back, for I, too am sorta anti med.....and yeah, I do go back and forth in denial about having RA. On my better functioning days I wonder if maybe it is something pyschosomatic to give my life a little break. (I can be my own worst enemy) On my bad days I am positive either me or the RA is going to kill me one way or another. - In , " Warren Portnoy " <wport@c...> wrote: > How long have you been on mtx? Guest guest
My wife noticed that after a few days or weeks I do a lot better, then turn worse upon return to the house and my boring life again. I don't know if it's mental or there is something in the house. It sounds like you and I have that in common. I also wonder why. Maybe there really is something to the idea of 'stress of normal life'.
