Guest guest
Hi everyone, Sorry, I haven't posted much but have been reading almost everyday and keeping up. I am just recovering from the worst case of pneumonia I have ever had in my life....the prior one this bad was in 1968 when I worked for the telephone company and the employees were on a nationwide strike and I missed all but just a few days of the strike. It has been just a little over 2 weeks now and I am finally beginning to feel like a human again. The only nice thing about it is that I have been able to be on the prednisone (only thing for me that kicks it) during this time and have about 5 days to go on it. The prednisone is the only drug that I have ever taken that can reduce my daily, normal pain level of a 5 to a 1 or nothing and it kicks in either the 2nd or 3rd day. I've told my doctor, it sure would be nice to be able to bottle the effects of the prednisone and take it daily but the risk is too great for me to take it regularly. Oh well, the story of my life...the golden apple is always just out of reach so settle for applesauce. and a...I need some help again on a subject if you have time. I need to know about dyshagia and specifically...safe swallowing, taste, texture, pressure, and temperature...and possibly experts in the field or support groups. Thanking you in advance for all you do. You two are awesome. We are getting spasmodic thunderstorms...maybe one a week. Don't envy you all in the snow and continuous rain areas. I would be down more often than not or housebound from October until Spring Thaw....have had to come to accept that. Rained yesterday heavily and wouldn't you know it...my first real day out. When I was in the ER for several hours on Sunday the week past, same thing...thunderstorms. It has been interesting to read about the Prosorba. Seems quite a few are beginning to consider it. Will close for now and leave my wishes with you all for painfree or nearly so day and to say even though I am not posting regularly....I am here and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
