Guest guest
Dear Elaine, Your post brought tears to my eyes! If there was ever anything that could get me up off my sorry behind, that was it. What was the incurable disease you were dx with? No, I don't plan to give up, that wouldn't be me. It was just such a hard knock when I had my hopes up so high. One doctor said I should pray for a miracle to cure me. The miracle I would pray for would not be for myself, but for all who suffer from Dercum's and other diseases, to find caring, loving, dedicated doctors who are willing to go that extra mile, as the one you found was. Thanks more than words can say, Judi

Guest guest
Judi, Thank you. To you, June, Tess and all who responded to my email, many thanks for your many kind and thoughtful words. I know it is worth the pain of writing when my words help someone. That's what we're all here for, and even though I can't write often I do care about each and every one of you. The incureable disease I have been dxed with is Pulmonary Hypertension. You may have heard of the deadly disease in women caused by phen-fen and redux. That is it. Yes, I did take both phen- fen and redux but I also have other risk factors. So who knows. It's suspicious since I was dx'd a month after taking the drugs for 11 months. Doesn't matter how; I've got it and have to live with it. It affects the lungs. I also have RA and pulmonary firbrosis in my lungs. I am on oxygen 24/7. I think I caused a little confusion and I apologize. Now I have a wonderful team of physicians who are treating me. I am now being treated for the pulmonary hypertension with a new drug called Tracleer. We don't know the long term benefits, but then life does not come with any promises and we don't know what tomorrow will bring even if we are healthy. So I'm just very grateful that I have responded well to the Tracleer and thankful for a fantastic team of doctors. It just took awhile to get here, but that's o.k. Judi, you are a beautiful lady inside and out and I truly wish your path wasn't so rugged right now. I hope and pray you, too, will find the right doctor and the right treatment for you. I know how rough it is to have a rare disease. I suspect DD is even rarer than PH. My heart goes out to you. God bless.
