I agree with you, Dennis. Rheumatoid arthritis is so much more than

arthritis that " rheumatoid disease " is a better description. It's a

serious systemic disease.

I also believe that it's true that there are a lot of people who have

been told they have RA when in fact they don't have it.

So, is your birthday around September 8th?

I'll tell you where to go!

A few years ago, I decided that I needed a fresh mind to look at my RA and

it's progress (or non-progress), so I went to a fairly new graduate and

thought he could be a good one. It turned out that he believed only what the

textbook says. It has to be in the joints only, and nowhere else because of

it's definition. It was almost as frustrating as the neurosurgeon that

concluded that my right leg goes numb because I wear my clothes too tight!

It had nothing to do with the missing disc and bone spur sitting on the

nerves in my neck, and he had no explanation why I spent 1 1/2 hours in the

MRI machine. That was another mistake.

No, my birthday is on April 16. The reference to the age of 59.95 sounds

better than saying I'm 60. ;)

I agree too. Rheumatoid disease is a much better name than

arthritis. Too many lay people who don't understand only hear the

arthritis part of the name. They seem to think that it is the same

as regular arthritis (osteoarthritis). I have found that

frustrating. My dad is the same. I can't get him to realize the

difference. Even gave him articles to read. Sometimes I wonder if

it is because he doesn't WANT to know. Given the results of RA.

Prayers for all.....Marina (Canal Winchester, Oh.)
