Guest guest
Here's something interesting for you to mull over. There's a woman in my aquatherapy group who shows all the signs of Dercum's. I am going with her Friday to the dermatologist. While she has been seeing several doctors in the area here, diagnosed with " unspecified muscle disease " they put her on the same meds I was on, but most recently on MTX, which did help her pain. BUT, that is also when she started developing the most lipomas! She said she's always had the lumps (well, always meaning the last few years) but these new ones just starting popping out when she started the MTX, similar to when I started the alpha interferon. If I'm not wrong, isn't there a relation between the 2 drugs? Thanks for any light you can shed on this, Judi/aka the lumpy black sheep
Guest guest
Judi, MTX-induced nodulosis, especially in RA, is a known phenomenon. It's not perfectly understood, but here's a good review: Medscape 10/22/2002 " A Review of Methotrexate-Induced Accelerated Nodulosis " : http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/441926 (registration required, but it is fast and free) I'll tell you where to go!
