Guest guest
Jan,.....It sounds like your ready for the new year Jan, you have had quite a time. I will be keeping you in my prayers, please let us know how you are. Sorry, that the Grinch had to steal your tree, and Richie's bike, that is sad. God bless you, Tawny > Hello, my friends...(family) old and new. > As the year becomes closer to a finale...I would like to take this moment to send wishes for the new year to all. > My wish (prayer) is for the New Year to bring happiness to all.....to find a cure for all the auto-immune diseases that plague us.....or at least a relief that stops the pain and suffering...one that is simple, inexpensive, and non-allergenic with no side effects. This would be universal and hopefully effective immediately with no qualifying. Is it a dream? Could be, however, we have been promised where more than one are gathered together...our requests will be heard. > What are your wishes or dreams or prayers for the New Year? > > Last year, I thought was the worst year of my life with the flooding of my house, the contamination of the asbestos tile, the fires, that horrible flu that took me down over Christmas and for several months just to name a few things. This year has had it's little flaws also, however, it has seen me move to AZ and loving it even with the things that have happened regarding my new house. Also, this end of year is trying to get me to say Uncle, but, it's not going to happen....two weeks ago, my grandson Richie found our Christmas tree and his new birthday bike had been stolen from the shed. We decided not to put a tree up and came over to San Diego (a six hour drive) where Richie went with his dad for three days and I was able to run around and see many friends. When it was time to leave, I ended up at the dentist's office to have a new crown replaced (have to come back for an appointment on the 7th) that broke. Then my eye, which had been mildly irritated before we left became > extremely inflamed and painful.....so I ended up in the ER on Thursday night at 8pm and was there until almost 4am on Christmas Eve. they called in two specialists and made an appointment for me for 11am on Christmas Day. I was told the eye had iritis very badly and first I was given drops of a pain killer and then I was sent home with prednorte (prednisone) drops to be used every hour which I have done faithfully. Also, was given drops to keep my eye dilated. The first specialist was of the mind that it is RA related. The one on Christmas Day says no and decided that because I have had a recurring shingles type virus on that eye lid (since about age 8 but not in the past 20 years) and gave me an anti-viral medicine. Today, I saw the first specialist and while he is still not convinced that it is viral, he continued me on the meds to be tapered off by the end of the week. I can now go home....however....there is a major storm to hit here in about 3 hours that will last > through tomorrow. It is already dark and cloudy.... So I am looking at perhaps Wednesday before leaving. On top of all this, my cell phone disappeared. > All in all...even with these minor distractions...I am happy to be alive and ready to face the New Year. > and a...do you have any information on Iritis and what could cause it? Also, could it be RA related? The specialist also mentioned that sometimes a negative RA dx when it should be positive could begin to manifest itself in other things such as my eye problems. The eyeball itself had cells that he was not quite sure what they were but they did reduce from Friday until today (Monday) and thought it probably was the prednisone that would account for the reduction. > Tess....I am so thrilled for you with your loss (and with your gain of a new life). I sent Em ecards for her birthday and another one for Christmas, but they returned as undeliverable...has her email address changed? > Again...let me wish you all a wonderful and prosperous New Year. I don't post often, however, you see when I do...I tend to make up for it. > Love, prayers, hugs, and positive thoughts for you and yours. > Jan =^..^= > > > > ~ " We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere. " ~ ~ " If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand.
