I think you may be right when it comes to the numbers of people with vagal AF. I'm sure it's one of the reasons why so many of are struggling to find the correct meds -since a lot are aimed at the adrenergic form of AF. Unfortunately I think it's not an either/or situation. Some people find themselves in the middle and have both vagal and adrenergic triggers. There's also some strange thing called ' vagal rebound' which can happen when the heart is zooming along but the mechanism for slowing the heart down just gets in a muddle. So, for example you may go into AF while exercising but this doesn't automatically point to adrenergic AF - all very confusing! On a quick browse of the database 28 entries have ticked vagal and only 12 have ticked adrenergic -this leaves 65 entries unsure. we still have a lot to learn but we are getting there.
