Guest guest
, I know you do not trust your doctor and do not believe you necessarily have RA. It makes sense for you to be questioning things at this point since you have not had time to learn much about the disease. But the absolute BEST - meaning showing the best results with the least long term negative results - is early aggressive treatment with DMARDs. There are alternative therapies - but any well informed and well educated and GOOD rheumatologist or specialist or supporter of alternative therapies will recommend alternative therapy be used in conjunction with a DMARD, not instead of it. There is a lot to learn about RA and proper treatment of RA. You are not going to absorb it all in one day. Stick around and start reading the latest research and it will help you. You said your insurance will only pay to see this one doctor? Is he in fact a rheumatologist? I have never heard of an insurance company not letting someone have a second opinion before. Jennie > What kind of alternative therapies are out there. My doc has not said anything to me about this. You would think he would want to try any none drug type therapies before starting these strong drugs with all their side effects. > > >
