Greetings to you, June Dixon!!

*** You are a special person, June,

to to do the things you do.

But I? Might as well live on the moon,

My only way around are shoes....

That is, if I can get them on that day,

For, you see, my Lady drives it away,

(my " wheels " ),for she brings our income home...

That's why, so often I have the " blues " ,

and here in this house I must stay.

My lifeline, and connection

to the world,which keeps me going,

are words as sweet as confection,

from People as you,who, by " letters " are showing

thatmaybe,just, I'm not as alone as I thought....

I'm so tired of all the battles

that I feel as tho' I've fought.

I'm just like any other,

all I want is just a friend,

to be able to love another,

to have the finger pointing end.

I once had some " friends " I asked a question,

" why do my former friends not ever call?

Why do they not even visit? "

Now, I know why I'm always alone,just resting:

They told me that I don't see at all

that they are not comfortable around me,

because I am handicapped..well, it's NOT my

fault,tho', is it?

I no longer see them.they've long since moved

away.

I don't know what to do, anymore,

or even what to say......

So, June, if you will be my friend,

remember me once in a while,

some sunshine and some warmth you'll send,

along with a sort of smile.......

I have nothing in return for this....

we're strugg'ling just to eat.

not even our Christmas is more than a kiss,

for, anything else would be an impossible feat...

All I can offer is what I can write....

for being so kind and sweet!
