Heidi,

I sure have to agree with you on your statements from Dr. Crandall and

the pharmacist!!! Talk about people that need to be educated!

If I may condense a little here from those sites you sent on:

1. On one of the tables from Pfizer, it shows a HIGHER cure rate for

OTHER FORMS of Vaginal products, (clotrimazole & miconazole) 72% as

compared to Diflucan's of 69%, and eradication was only 1% better for

Diflucan 61% as to 60% for the other forms. And the therapeutic cure

was the same at 55%..

Now remember this is from Pfizers own site and product which is

Diflucan!!

2. According to their studies tho, the mycological eradication was 76%

as to 11% for Nizoral, BUT.... BIG BUT... at the end of 4 weeks clinical

relapses were 22% for Diflucan as compared to 23% for Nystatin. So all

in all, I can't see how this is better..

3. Diflucan was HIGHER in all side effects, (except application site)

as compared to Clotrimazole and Miconazole, from nausea,

gastrointestinal events, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, etc.etc.

4. Both Diflucan (fluconazole) and Nizoral were related to liver

toxicity INCLUDING SOME FATALITIES!! (PLUS THE FACT OF THE BLACK BOX),

usually means an extreme warning, and drug companies HATE THAT!!)

It states the liver injury is usually reversible, but NOT ALWAYS..

5. Both Nizoral, and Diflucan lower serum Testosterone.

6. Dysfuntion of the liver symptoms are: unusual fatigue, anorexia,

nausea, vomiting, jaundice, dark urine, and pale stools.

So gals, be aware of any of these side effects, and for goodness sakes

check these things out for yourselves, and don't believe all you hear!

Unfortunately some of our physicians, and pharmacists, are even less

educated in some areas than us. Thank you HEIDI, for saying

something!!! Dee~
