Guest guest
Welcome to the group, sorry it took me so long to say hi! I'm Judi, 58, oddball of the group as I do NOT have RA. I have Dercum's Disease, sort of like fibromyalgia, but add in fatty tumors that are very painful and multiply like rabbits all over my body, and there you have Dercum's. Medications include pain meds, (currently Ultram) anti-seizure (Topamax)and will soon try a new anti- inflammatory that a member of my DD support group in Australia is trying, soon as my orthopedic surgeon approves it for me. I also have post-polio syndrome, which complicates matters with muscle spasms in my legs, but that seems to be getting better--at least not as frequent as it was earlier this year. I'm currently in the process of waiting for Social Security to decide whether or not to deny me (for the 2nd time) disability--they can't decide if this is a " real " disease or not since it's so rare that most doctors don't even know about it. Meanwhile, my husband, (who has Parkinson's) and I enjoy playing with our 4-year old grandson and his 18-month old triplet siblings, and while Ron plays golf, I muck about in the garden, and grow herbs which have proved very popular with one of our local restaurants. We live in a very small town in south central Indiana. Glad you found our group, it is a good and supportive group! Judi
