Guest guest
actimmune as prednisone, works in some cases and in some it does not. i think it all depends on the type of PF and the severity of it at the time of diagnosis. i have been on actimmune for about 8 months myself and prednisone even longer.......i however did have the weight gain, moon face, night seats, insomnia (which i still suffer from and am only half the prednisone i was started on originally) from the actimmune i have only gotten the high fevers a few times but i do get severe muscle and joint pain as well as migraines from it. jaime in houston PF 10-05 > >Yes acctimune and interferon are the same thing.Iam injecting acctimune > > three times a week. > > > > Mark L.Odegard > > > > >From: TongueDancer2U@... > > >Reply-To: Breathe-Support > > >To: Breathe-Support > > >Subject: Re: A Question??? > > >Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2006 18:41:09 EDT > > > > > >I was wondering if anybody knows if actimmune and interferon are the > >same? > > >kiss kiss, > > >Ginger > > >IPF 9/04 > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Is it helping you? Have you been on predisone as well? Can you take this if you have been on predisone? Thanks everybody for all your information. I am learning so much. My dad's doctor will have to answer a lot of questions. Guest guest
Hi , How much predinisone are you on now? I am down to 25 mg a day and would like to drop lower. Did the moon face go away when you went down to half? Also what does the actimune do thats different than prednisone? Thanks for the info- Sarcoid/PF 3/06jaime wrote: actimmune as prednisone, works in some cases and in some it does not. i think it all depends on the type of PF and the severity of it at the time of diagnosis. i have been on actimmune for about 8 months myself and prednisone even longer.......i however did have the weight gain, moon face, night seats, insomnia (which i still suffer from and am only half the prednisone i was started on originally) from the actimmune i have only gotten the high fevers a few times but i do get severe muscle and joint pain as well as migraines from it. jaime in houston PF 10-05 > >Yes acctimune and interferon are the same thing.Iam injecting acctimune > > three times a week. > > > > Mark L.Odegard > > > > >From: TongueDancer2U@... > > >Reply-To: Breathe-Support > > >To: Breathe-Support > > >Subject: Re: A Question??? > > >Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2006 18:41:09 EDT > > > > > >I was wondering if anybody knows if actimmune and interferon are the > >same? > > >kiss kiss, > > >Ginger > > >IPF 9/04 > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
denise, i have been on 30 mg for the passed 4 months, 40 mg for 3 months prior to that and 60 mg for 3 months prior to that! i have noticed a decrease in the moon face.....wish i would see a decrease in the thigh and behind area now lol when i started on prednisone i wore a size zero to a 3 depending on how it was made....i am currently wearing size 10 and 12 depending on how they are made. i don't mind the weight, just wish i could move it around a lil bit....like UP. lol after about a month of being on the 60 mg doses of prednisone, i couldn't stand to look in the mirror and would cry every time i did. i couldn't stand to go out in public and anyone see me. that's when they decided i needed an anti-depressant. now i don't mind so much looking in the mirror but have lost a good bit of the moonface too...but still on the anti-depressant. jaime PF 10-05 > > >Yes acctimune and interferon are the same thing.Iam injecting > acctimune > > > three times a week. > > > > > > Mark L.Odegard > > > > > > >From: TongueDancer2U@ > > > >Reply-To: Breathe-Support > > > >To: Breathe-Support > > > >Subject: Re: A Question??? > > > >Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2006 18:41:09 EDT > > > > > > > >I was wondering if anybody knows if actimmune and interferon > are the > > >same? > > > >kiss kiss, > > > >Ginger > > > >IPF 9/04 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
, Prednisone is a drug used to reduce inflammation which only helps if your lungs are inflammed (an allergic reaction for ex.) Actimmune is supposed to stimulate the immune system itself to help our bodies resist the disease. I have been on for three months and can't say either way if has helped. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for the info. Have you noticed any change in your breathing since you are on less prednisone? My behind and legs keep getting smaller and my middle section looks like I am due in 4 more months! Isn't prednisone weird? It seems to do different things to all of us. jaime wrote: denise, i have been on 30 mg for the passed 4 months, 40 mg for 3 months prior to that and 60 mg for 3 months prior to that! i have noticed a decrease in the moon face.....wish i would see a decrease in the thigh and behind area now lol when i started on prednisone i wore a size zero to a 3 depending on how it was made....i am currently wearing size 10 and 12 depending on how they are made. i don't mind the weight, just wish i could move it around a lil bit....like UP. lol after about a month of being on the 60 mg doses of prednisone, i couldn't stand to look in the mirror and would cry every time i did. i couldn't stand to go out in public and anyone see me. that's when they decided i needed an anti-depressant. now i don't mind so much looking in the mirror but have lost a good bit of the moonface too...but still on the anti-depressant. jaime PF 10-05 > > >Yes acctimune and interferon are the same thing.Iam injecting > acctimune > > > three times a week.
Guest guest
Hi , well my breathing isn't too great this afternoon. O2 stats 85. i have the pregnant look some days too. especially ticks me off when someone asks how far along i am, even more so when it is someone i know! it's the sleep pattern that's driving me crazy. that and the swollen hands. my husband had even gone out and gotten me a new wedding ring in a bigger size to wear for now until the swelling goes down and then i could use my original one again.....well even the new one doesn't fit today! and you know that is the first thing a man looks at when they see you. lol well after they check out your behind and your chest size. lolol have a great day! hugs to ya! jaime > > > >Yes acctimune and interferon are the same thing.Iam injecting > > acctimune > > > > three times a week. > > > > > > > > Mark L.Odegard > > > > > > > > >From: TongueDancer2U@ > > > > >Reply-To: Breathe-Support > > > > >To: Breathe-Support > > > > >Subject: Re: A Question??? > > > > >Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2006 18:41:09 EDT > > > > > > > > > >I was wondering if anybody knows if actimmune and > interferon > > are the > > > >same? > > > > >kiss kiss, > > > > >Ginger > > > > >IPF 9/04 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > __________________________________________________ > >
