You may served by contacting the American Association of Suicidology, this

organization is dedicated to the understanding and prevention of suicide. The

membership of AAS includes mental health professionals, researchers, suicide

prevention and crisis intervention centers, school districts, crisis center

volunteers, survivors of suicide, and a variety of lay persons who have an

interest in suicide prevention. thay may be of some help.

question:

are there any thoughts on what causes suicides in ems workers today?

is it the job itself being so traumatic and stressful?

is it the sometimes financial burdens that the job carries (lack of pay in some

cases)?

is it because of the stress of coming back to the home life after work?

why is suicide so prevalant in our field?

or are there other factors?
