Guest guest
Dear , Do not let the doctor ignore you by putting you off!!!! Tell the nurse you need to speak with him NOW!!!!! Or get another doctor! You need (if your not on it, I cant recall) but you need actigal or questran. You cant live this way for a month, my god! , before we found out, was batty with the itching, nothing worked and he got so depressed that he wanted to kill himself.( but that was several months of nonstop itching). Sorry to get angry, just being a mom. Sincerely,
Guest guest
Thanks , I did get through finally to the doctor. I am already taking 2 doses of Questran a day, 4 25mg of Atarax and 500 mg. Actigall. His advice to me was to also take Benadryl in addition to those medications. I asked about tanning and he said it may provide some relief. This is my local GI. He admits he doesn't know enough about PSC and doesn't want to over medicate me until my visit with the Cleveland Clinic. I took this afternoon off, went to the tanner and then to the casino. I live about 30 minutes from the Soaring Eagle in Mount Pleasant Michigan. It was a nice distraction...and I came out 120.00 ahead, but, I came home smelling like Smokey the Bear so I took a bath....wrong thing to do, I am itching again. I need to ice my body down. Whoever invented cold showers was sadistic! And thanks again, I need a Mom. To be honest my mother is still alive, but, (and I don't want alot of emails about bashing my Mom) she was never there for me and she totally denies that I am sick. (Gutless1), Michigan, UC X15, colon removed 12/99, PSC dx 97, first flare 6/00. just being a mom. Sincerely, >
Guest guest
I woke up itching, so I went to the tanner. This was my 3rd visit. Each time I go I stay in 5 minutes. I felt better after the visit this morning, and then I had my dad's 77th birthday party. We were out in the sun, and I am happy to report no itching. I have thought about increasing the dosage of Questran, and would do it, but I just got my refills and it is a generic, and it tastes more bitter than the namebrand. I didn't understand all the complaining I had heard about its taste, until now. Yuck! This was my dad's first birthday party...77. We are lucky to have him alive after his heart surgery and ordeal over the last 4 months. He finally got out of the hospital yesterday, and he managed to stay alert for the duration of the party. It felt so good to see him enjoying himself. I want to live to be at least 77. I don't remember how many cards he got with 77.00 in it. Wow, what a haul he made! The best part was seeing him enjoy himself. I totally forgot about my problems. --- Kkbhirsh@... wrote: > Hi , hows the itching today? takes > questran.
