Hi Cindi, you made a wise decision to never stop any med without discussing it

with your doctor. I get the same reaction from highly educated people that say "

gosh you take so many drugs, if you tossed them out, you would probably feel

better " . So, it has nothing to do with whether a person is educated or not,

those people have not got a clue as to how much benefit we derive from " meds " or

how awful it would be if we stopped. Many years ago I decided to stop all meds

and for a couple of weeks I thought I had proven something, the following week I

was taken by ambulance to the hospital where I had to stay for 3 days to get

stabilized. I was very embarrassed but had to confess to my rheumy what I had

done and strangely enough he was very sympathetic and said I was not the first

person wanting to believe the doctor(s) were wrong.

Hugs

HI GINA AND PAULA,

I KNOW THAT BOTH OF YOU ARE RIGHT. I JUST GOT THIS IDEA IN MY HEAD

OVER THE WEEKEND. ESPECIALLY, FROM SOME OF THE OTHER POSTS. I KNOW

THAT MY FAMILY IS VERY UN-EDUCATED ABOUT MY 3 DISEASES. THEY TRY TO

TAKE CARE OF ME - BUT TO ASK THEM TO READ A HAND-OUT OR GET IN THE

INTERNET AND READ SOMETHING IS ASKING FOR THE WORLD IT SEEMS. THIS

HAS BEEN SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER TALKED ABOUT AND HURT ME VERY MUCH.

IF IT WERE MY HUSBAND OR ONE OF MY CHILDREN, I WOULD NOT STOP

LEARNING UNTIL I EXHAUSTED EVERY RESOURCE.

THEY LOVE THE IDEA OF ME NOT TAKING ANY MEDS, OR AS THEY WOULD SAY,

DRUGS.

BUT YOU ARE RIGHT, AND THE IDEA OF LIVING IN ANY MORE PAIN THAN THE

24 HOUR A DAY PAIN I AM IN IS INCONCIEVABLE, ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE

CAUSED IT TO HAPPEN TO MYSELF.

I WILL GET WITH THE PROGRAM - ROUGH THOUGH IT MAY BE AND TALK WITH

MY DOCTOR ON MY NEXT VISIT. I EXPECT NO SYMPATHY FROM HIM, HE DOES

NOT MINCE WORDS OR LISTEN TO ANY WHINING. JUST TELLS IT LIKE IT IS

AND OUT I GO....

THANKS CINDI
