Hi Sara,

It's interesting you say that about Eckhart and God - I can see how

that can look like the case - with so much emphasis on finding our

own purpose, etc, etc - and I've just been listening to some of the

Opran And Eckhart Webcast of A New Earth - it reminded me how much he

does refer to what Jesus said and the Bible says, as well as

teachings from other religions. In that sense, I do see his stuff as

giving many people a closer relationship to God.

I'm curious - do you use The Work - and if so, how do you see it

fitting in with your religious beliefs? I only ask as I've heard it

said before that the work fits in with any religion or belief system -

and, being honest, I'm not sure how that works - it hasn't for me -

eventually any belief just seems to get in the way of a peaceful life.

Even just thinking about it, maybe it's the difference between what's

at the heart of any religion and the dogma that can often surround

them.

There's a guy called Adyashanti that mentions in one of his writings

that the real purpose of Buddhism is to create Buddhas, not Buddhists

and that the same is true for Christianity - to create Christs, not

Christians - I like that - it reminds me that at heart Jesus and the

Buddha were 'just' really, really clear human beings.

Anyway, curious to hear your thoughts on any or all of this, as well

as more on Eckhart's work from others.

With love,

Jon
