Guest guest
, I am sure someone can clarify about the special notices, I'm not sure about that one. I used to get the digest and it's a pretty good option, try it out. There will be a list of subject lines at the top of each digest and you can just scroll through them all. I used to get more than one a day, and I imagine they do that so anyone one digest is not too horribly long. I got to the point I couldn't keep up with the digests, so now I just use the website. I don't know about searching, but I think scrolling through the website and going back to the last time I read anything is pretty easy. The subject line changes color when I read a post, so I know which one's I have read and which one's I have not. Guest guest
The only problem I had when I tried to read digest form is locating where one post ended and the next one started. Digest works fine if people on digest remember to only include the part of a post they are responding to. Otherwise they hit reply and the entire digest becomes part of that email. If I were looking only for the medical abstracts, I would look mainly at the email of the people that send in these abstracts and maybe make a message rule to highlight them or color code them in some way. Each email program has a way to bring attention to a particular sender or subject. I've seen where some people in other groups that never want to see a message for another member in particular so they put them in their " kill file. " What this does is sends any mail from a particular member right to the trash bin without having to ever see it. I have my email program set up so that anyone not in my address book goes right to the trash bin. I scan the bin before deleting to make sure someone with a new address isn't in there.. This has cut my junk mail way down. Going to the website to read mail allows you to pick which messages to read. Maybe that is an easier way to scan the mail and see what is relevant to you. We never have had any special announcements, so that is a feature not to worry about. As far as replying, everything will be the same except for what I mentioned about having to cut and paste what you are responding to in a new email so that the entire digest doesn't get answered to. a > I can't keep up with the volume of e-mails I'm > receiving so I want to change my setting.
