Guest guest
Today while I was in the drug store waiting for a prescription, I got up a conversation with a woman who was also waiting for a prescription. I found out that she has lupus, and was on prednisone for years. Of course now she has osteoporosis as a result. The lupus has affected her systemically, with lung and heart involvement. She's had heart surgery already and now has congestive heart failure. Her husband was recently in the hospital for heart surgery, and it cost around $50,000. So she is determined that she is not going into the hospital, no matter what, because she doesn't want to leave her children in debt. I don't know what kind of insurance they have, but she did mention something about Blue Cross Blue Shield. It didn't sound as though she's on any medication now for her lupus. Anyway, we had a nice conversation, and I could certainly empathize with her. I'm sorry that I have RA, but I count my blessings that it's not lupus.
