Guest guest
So far the hospital has absorbed most of those costs. I've got to talk to them this week about future payments. Medicare does cover most of the bill, and the amount I may be responsible for is small as well. Lots of doctors/hospitals will charge a 20% co-pay based on the total retail price. When that happens, I offer 20% of the APPROVED Medicare cost. Usually they accept it, muttering under their breath. A procedure may be billed to me as $1500, and they expect me to pay 20% of it. When I receive the statement from Medicare, the price is usually about 10%, and that's what I pay on.
