Guest guest
Jan, I hope your poor toes are okay. You sure acted quickly and did the best thing by getting ice on. This type of burn can be very dangerous. If I may tell you a story of my mishap with my micro. I put a cup of water in to boil for making hot chocolate. I left the room and when I came back the water didn't look like it boiled. So I put it on for another minute. Took it out and with a metal spoon began to stir the chocolate powder, it took less than a second for the liquid to explode which then went on my hand and up my arm. Fortunately it was winter and I ran(I could run then) and put my whole arm into a snowbank which avoided blistering. Now I use the kettle to boil water. Guest guest
June.... Things could have been much worse for the two of us. Were you left with any scaring or sensitivities? I learned about the ice bach when I was 17 and babysitting 5 kids while their parents were out of town ranging from 6 months to 6 years old. Somehow, a pot of boiling hot water was tipped and poured over my hand. No way to get in touch with the parents (the 50's)so did what I had to do. Put my hand in a pan of ice and there it stayed for nearly 48 hours until they came home. Left a sensitivity to heat on 2 or 3 fingers for about 25 years but that too faded. In 25 years of having a micro...never had anything close happen such as that. Always happens to someone else who is " careless. " I will be extra careful from now on. Take care...Jan =^..^= > Jan, I hope your poor toes are okay. You sure acted quickly and did the best thing by getting ice on. This type of burn can be very dangerous.
