Guest guest
When I was working in primary care, if a patient came for a physical and they were sick, I told them we should address their acute concern and reschedule the physical. I told them I needed them back to their baseline B/c things are not "normal" during an illness....BP can be off, heart sounds can change if the pt. Is febrile etc. We are screening to be sure there are not new problems....results are skewed during illness. We filled scripts for maintenance meds b/c there is essential no difference if I do it while they were there or if they called the office when they got home. The work was the same for me either way. Unless there were tons, but then I had do it at the end of the day. Patients seemed ok with postpoing the physical if they had a problem and they felt I cared about them to do it too. Unless it was time sensitive then I did both.TammyConnected by DROID on Verizon Wireless
