Welcome, !

What went on at your appointment with your rheumatologist? Do you have a

diagnosis? How are you feeling?

Sorry that you are frightened. What are your biggest worries? We'll try

to calm your fears.

I'll tell you where to go!

Welcome to the group. This is a great source of support and also

for information about RA, RA treatment, the latest RA research,

etc. There is a lot to absorb when you first find out you have RA,

and especially if you don't know anyone else with this disease.

We would be happy to help you get over that overwhelmed feeling and

the fear. Do you have any specific questions? What did your

rheumatologist say? Are you starting on any medications? The most

important thing I think you should know about RA, is that 10 years

ago getting RA could very well mean a life sentence of pain and

disability. There have been significant improvements in the

medications available to treat RA, and so getting RA today is not as

bad. It is possible to get control back of your life and manage

this disease, at least for most. Still, having a chronic illness

will always be part of your life and adjusting to that is not easy.

It takes time to undertand and accept the limitations that come with

having RA. But there are also much worse disease one can come down

with.
