Hi Jeana,

I almost hate to say this, but more than likely with a Cin 3, after they

do the colposcopy and biopsy, (I've had both, and it was no big deal),

but they most probably will HAVE to do either 1.Cryosurgery, (freezing

of the cells), a 2.Conization (cone shape cut from the cervix) , or 3.

LEEP procedure. Any of these 3 types are done in order to remove any

potential cancerous cells.

From all my reading, I think the LEEP (a newer procedure) is the way to

go!! have you discussed this procedure with your doctor?

The LEEP is an electrical loop using radio waves and they slice off a

very thin layer of the cervix, it stands for " LOOP Electrosurgical

Excision Procedure " which is still better than a Conization or Cone

surgery as its more controllable and less of the cervix is erroded, But,

you do want a doctor who is familiar with this type of treatment and has

experience with it. Also, let your doctor know your concerns about a

future pregnancy if so, so he can know the best method for you.

And Jeana from what you're telling me with your history hon, you don't

dare put this off any more. *smack, smack* *chuckle*... The biopsy will

be the tell-all story. But please listen to your doctor ok? And be

sure to discuss the different methods of treatment. In that area, you

DO have some control. If he/she's the type you can't talk to, or

intimidates you I'd consider going to another one for at least a second

opinion and with whom you can feel comfortable.

Don't be fearful, and be glad something is going to be done now, before

it would get any worse, ok? so ok, enough, MOM " S done talking and

giving advice. ;) Take care, all will be ok, Just glad you're getting

this taken care of now!!! Warmest Regards, Dee~
