Guest guest
I see so many people who bring in their medical records to soc sec. I see this here and at the melanoma site I go to and the bipolar sites I go to. I went in for my first ssd appt and had nothing with me at all except my docs name. Not even his address or phone number. I was a walk in actually, I did not even HAVE an appt at ssd. They looked in phone book for all my docs addresses, and we did all the paperwork that way- ssd contacted my docs and got my records. ssd contacted my employers....I was notified approx a month later to be at an appt the next DAY for a soc se doc to examine me- I went - got Xrayed and gave bloodwork- and I was approved for my ssd the first time. No appeals, no lawyers, nothing. My husband got ssd in 1991 or so- from combat ptsd----while he was inpatient the hospital helped him apply from inpatient psych unit. He, too was approved first try, no lawyers or appeals, he had nothing with him but himself. soc sec even handled it thru the hospital. I did not even know he had applied, and he did not even remember applying. I did try to get SSI for my 2 disabled kids- but soc sec told me my kids share as dependants form mine and hubbys soc sec was more than they would get thru SSI right now- and they would lose their dependants monies if we went SSI for them. (so we did not try, they told us to apply when the kids hit age 17.5) How did we get this lucky?
