Guest guest
Hi Rick, I'm an old timer at this problem. Going on 16 yrs. I have been to 16 Drs. and ended up with my M.D. The ortho. I went to when I first fractured my back told me to learn to live with the pain. Some days I can just about walk around. One Dr. wanted to crack open my chest and stomach so bad, they didn't want me to leave the office before I made an appointment for the surgery. I told them I would get back to them. Guess what? I never did. The chances of me becoming paralized from that surgery is about 80%. I should subject myself to that? Are they crazy? Don't sleep well either. Up at all hrs. of the night and all the dr. will prescribe is zanax to sleep. It lasts about 2 hrs. then I am up wandering around for the rest of the night. If only we could get the meds. that would make life more tolerable, but; I don't think that is ever going to happen. Just wanted you to know that your not alone with your feelings. Guest guest
My sympathy to fellow " pain insomniacs " . I have found that if I can sleep, I can at least function during the day, and the pain is more bearable. My neurologist put me on Ambien several months ago. This has been a blessing for me. I take it, and within 20-30 minutes it is lights out for me. You have to make sure that you can sleep 7-8 hours though, or you feel hungover. Kris Donna Berg wrote: Don't sleep well either.
