Guest guest
Semalee, My rheumy gave me a choice between Humira and Remicade. I was leaning toward Remicade because I was afraid of injecting myself. The nurse talked me into Humira. She pointed out that I will have to go to the clinic every 8 weeks (more frequently when you first start it) and be there for a few hours. I work full time and she knew I already struggled having time to make it to my dr appts. She told me the injections were easy and once I did it once, I would be fine. She was right. Just something to consider. As far as germs, I have a 4 year old that is in preschool. I have not had a problem with infections. But I know my mom, who has very advanced RA and is disabled, has stopped her Enbrel on several occasions. I think it's just a matter of when you get sick, calling your rheumy and asking if you should continue or stop. Guest guest
Because of the MTX I already have to go every 4-6 weeks for blood work, so I would imagine they would work things together? I hope so, cause my doctor is downtown in the med center and it takes me a little over an hour to get there! I don't think I would mind sitting there for the afternoon, as long as I am able to tolerate it well enough to go alone and drive home. If I have to have someone take me that could be an inconvenience! Semalee [ ] Re: supplements etc (Semalee... remicade vs others) Semalee, My rheumy gave me a choice between Humira and Remicade.
