Guest guest
It does not cost anything. It does not take extra effort. Here is an excerpt from my MCL newsletter Wear RED on Fridays! (No matter what your political belief may be, this is one way we can show our support for the men and women who are serving in the armed forces. They are doing what their Commander-In-Chief has ordered them to do. For those who have not forgotten what it was like coming home from Vietnam over 30 years ago. How did you feel when there was a demonstration going on? Was it against the war or was it against us the men and women who were doing the duty as we were ordered to do? I know that I thought it was against us and what we were doing. There were to many who made the demonstrations directly against us. That is why I like what this message has to say.) I wish I could take credit for this idea, but it's not mine. We plan to do this EVERY Friday until all our troops return home. It has come to my attention that quite a few Americans support our troops, but, as usual, we are the silent majority. We are not " organized " to really reflect who we are, nor our opinions. The idea is not to stand on street corners once or twice, not to carry stupid signs in a rally, not to carry our flag in parades. It's much simpler than that. We need to inform the local AMVETS, American Legion, VFWs, VietNow, all other veterans organizations, our local press, local TV, and continue carrying the message to the national levels as we start to get this going. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is that, starting this Friday and continuing on each and every Friday until our troops come home, we and every red-blooded American who support our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED. Word-of-mouth, press, TV, etc. -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red, much like a Cardinal's home baseball game. If every one of our members share this with other friends, co-workers, neighbors, family, I guarantee you that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - much to the disdain of the un-American ralliers. Lets get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
