NCC-- Victory!!! And another fight begins.....

Well gang, Nina WILL be going to preschool AT the school!!!!

HOORAYYYYYY!!!!!!! I had my " team " with me, plus the letter from the dr and

on top of it all, Nina was " showing off! " She was AWAKE the whole time and

made noises and played with people -- all around good meeting.

I was really glad a friend (who is a nurse) went with me -- she explained to

them that if they had to do CPR, they would do it like they would on someone

with a severe neck injury -- and that was OK with them! As far as the other

concerns, we all managed to let them know that they aren't as big a deal as

THEY were making them out to be!

So Nina starts school on October 4th (they are finding an aide for her for

class as well).

Now for the new " battle " -- my hubby's health insurance is raising it's

premiums -- FIFTY-NINE PERCENT (59%)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THat will make OUR

premiums (out of OUR pockets) over $500/month! I called teh State Insurance

Commission and they said there are no real laws limiting rates -- she had

seen raises of 200%!!!!! I think we are going to have to drop Nina off the

private insurance and just go with Medicaid all the way -- we can't afford to

keep her on ($500 is almost half our mortgage!). The lady at the Ins. Comm.

said that with all the things being passed on health insurance, the ONE thing

that has never been even talked about is AFFORDABILITY!

Well, I guess I will do some letter-writing to our Congressmen and Senators

(hey with a Sen that wants to get into the White House, maybe things will get

done!!). I mena, since I already have my battle-gear on (hahaha) I might as

well keep fighting!
