Guest guest
The last two times I've injected Enbrel, I've had mild site reactions. The site feels about like a mosquito bite. It stops itching after I rub some Sarna on it. I wonder why all of a sudden I've started getting a reaction after injecting Enbrel for probably 18 months. Has anyone else had this happen with Enbrel? Guest guest
I was having the same issues with kineret. For 2 weeks I had no injection site reaction. Then all of a sudden, every place I injected myself I developed red welps the size of small lemons. It now continues to do this but takes a few days to show up. Boy do they itch. Problem is they feel like I was rolling around in fiberglass insulation!!! I hope your reactions don't get any worse. Guest guest
My reaction is very mild. I didn't have any visible evidence. It just felt like a mosquito bit me on my tummy. It's nothing at all to worry about, just something to wonder about. Sue On Friday, September 17, 2004, at 08:18 PM, marina_troi wrote: > > I was having the same issues with kineret. Guest guest
I frequently will get an injection site reaction the day after I have injected. It doesn't usually happen on the stomach. I get edema at the arm site and almost always on the legs. I haven't mentioned it to the Rheumy because I thought this was just a normal thing. I think I will bring it up at the next visit. Guest guest
This happens every time Don gives it to me in my legs but when he uses my skinny arms, it is never a problem. Lot of friends on Enbrel still get that mosquito-like feeling even after 2-3 years on the injections. Guest guest
Sue, How do you find enbrel? What were your symptoms like before starting on it and how are they now? I have the enbrel in my refrig but still don't know if I should give it a try. My doctor prescribes it once a week instead of twice. Thanks, ette >
Guest guest
I was taking enbrel for 3 years and all of a sudden started having site reactions. I recently changed to Humira and had a reaction the first time but haven't since. Try chanigning sites. I notice that my arms and legs tend to have reactions. Not enough fat maybe? or scar tissue from diabetic insulin shots? Who knows! I tried my abdomen and had no reaction. Hope this helps-good luck! --- Jim/Terri Hauff <JimH@...> wrote: > I frequently will get an injection site reaction the > day after I have > injected. Guest guest
ette, am I going to have to come there and inject you myself? Darn, I don't know where you live, LOL. So I'll try hypnosis: You are getting sleepy, you are getting sleepy, when you read the word Courage for the second time, you will go to the refrigerator, take out the Enbrel, read the directions for mixing it, mix it, wait a few minutes for it to warm up a bit, and then pinch up some skin on the side of your stomach, use the syringe like a dart and stick it at an angle, unpinch the skin, and inject the Enbrel. It will not hurt because the needle is very short and very fine. You will not suddenly fall unconscious or dead or grow horns or sprout wings or anything. You will feel the very same as before because the Enbrel will not work instantaneously; it takes a few weeks to be effective. And if you do develop any adverse side effects, you can stop injecting it. But if it turns out to be the med for you, you will feel wonderful in due time. So get together your COURAGE, and you go, girl! Sue On Saturday, September 18, 2004, at 02:46 PM, Warren Portnoy wrote: > Sue, > > How do you find enbrel?
