My insurance paid for the gluco meter, and even the strips (I do pay the

co-pay) so I am happy about that :) you said you are around 120 in the

morning..I am best in the morning and tend to get worse as the day goes

on...hhhmmm...I will be making a call to the diabetes educator today..I

don't think my numbers are too good.. thanks Donna

Do I need to ask my Dr what is a good level for me? (gosh she is SO much

help haha)

I was led to believe that 120 should be the max morning reading,

although I'm over that quite often. 140 after 1 1/2 hrs is a goal to

shoot for, but YMMV.

If a type 2's numbers climb during the day, that's an indication of a diet

that's causing problems. But most diabetes educators are high-carbohydrate

fans, so she may not be helpful to you.

This is where the internet and your own self-testing can come in handy. If

your DE tells you that " healthy complex carbohydrates " are the way to go,

but you see that they are just driving your numbers up day after day, it's

time to consider creating your own program.
