Guest guest
Actually today I am wondering if it is as much willpower as it is ignorance. See, neither my dad or my brother understand medicine and medical terminology. They don't readily decipher what drugs are critical and what procedures and/or symptoms are more serious. I sit back and hear of their miraculous feat and wonder, if they really understood the statistical odds or the seriousness of their condition, would they still be here. If you believe you are going to die, you might wander down that path, but if you don't know, you may just think you are lost and wander around but always staying one step ahead of danger. I can tell you one thing, it sure is teaching our family and friends patience and hope. Patience, by the way, is something I NEVER pray for. Oh boy, I can see God saying, gee, you want this...well, I'll just put you in a harrowing situation where you will just have to learn patience.......Oh, I guess I'm enrolled in that class anyway...I guess it wasn't an elective course of study. Re: Willpower plays a role in healing - It's hard to beleive that after going through what you and your family have, that your attitude is still so postive. In the back of my mind I had always wondered about how much willpower plays in one recovery. But after reading your post I believe it's a much bigger player than we realise.
