Guest guest
I received the most recent digest of the group messages. I would like to extend my most heartfelt gratitude to the welcome I received from members. Also my heart goes out to those who are having a difficult time and going through that dreaded trial period of seeking what's best to treat their ailments. My philospy is that old adage " what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger " and we can build our strengths with a solid group and sharing what we can to help one another stay on the right track. In the past couple of years when I seemed to be going through the worst pain and health decline I thank the powers that be that I've had the support of a loving and humorous husband of nearly 3 yrs. I even tried to discourage him from marrying me because I knew I had such dibilitating illnesses. However, he insisted that if I was able to accept him and his disability, plus his goofy nature then what could he do but make an honest woman of me. Yes he actually said that! He's been my rock and so has his parents and siblings. I'm a very fortunate individual and I've been able to keep a positive outlook on things because of it.I've been through periods of severe depression that has landed me in the psychiatric facilities a few times. Sometimes, the pain and suffering we go through affects every facet of our lives. I learned through good therapy and support over the years to adapt to the changes and the bouts of pain by reaching out to others and remembering to do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. I believe in keeping an open mind and an open heart and never to dismiss someone elses problems as more insignificant than mine. We have our good days and our bad and we need to be there for one another no matter what kind we are having. I've learned through experience that it could even save a life. Therefore I also extend a welcoming smile to others new to the group and hope that they too can have a great experience from the wealth of knowledge and support they receive from the group members who've been there and are still struggling. By the way, I've a joke to share: What's yellow, black n blue, wet in white? Answer: Me! After the spill I took going down my snow covered steps to take the mail to the mailbox. Now, I'm too scared to venture out again! Normally, I love the snow and like to take a short walk to see the flakes fall and feel the crunch of fresh snow in my small yard. However, I didn't realize there was 6 inches of the white stuff until I stepped out. Should've looked out the window first!lol.
