Guest guest
Good morning, I have been having a lot of joint pain in the hands, feet, knees. The pain feels like sharp knives or shards of glass in the joints. During the day my hands change color and have a blotchy look to them. I saw a rheumatologist last week and she ordered a bone scan and took blood for a workup. I see her next week for the results. I saw the bone scan and it showed my wrists completely black and my pinky also. Both pinkys are getting deformed but the right one is worse. Sometimes it feels thick and numb. I wake up at night with both hands very numb and painful. I have severe night sweats. At times my feet hurt so much that I can hardly walk. My left knee has a squichy lump above the joint and can be painfull at times. I also at times have pain in the hips. I have had chronic severe back pain for over a year and have had injections to help. My sachroiliac(sp. ?) joint is what appears to be the problem. The back pain has subsided considerably but I am very stiff in the morning or after sitting for long periods of time. What's your impression of this and have you had a bone scan and if so what did it show? Thanks for any thoughts you might share with me. Guest guest
, welcome to the group! I'm sorry to hear that you are in so much pain and that you're wondering what's going on. I'm not comfortable making any guesses. Since you're going to see your rheumatologist next week, it's best to let her make the assessment. Try not to worry until then, but please do let us know what you and she discuss at your next appointment. I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
, Welcome to the group. I agree with , it's hard to say from your email what could be going on. It could be lots of things. It's best to see what your rheumy says, and definitely let us know after you have your appointment. Does your rheumy suspect RA? This is a great group and if you think you might have RA, or if you find you definitely do have it, you can learn quite a lot from these men and women.
