Guest guest
When I went off vioxx my BP returned to normal. I went on Naproxin which is more effective than the Vioxx for me. Interesting that it raises your BP but doesn't affect mine. All medications react differently for all of us. Vioxx is the only -2 that has had these problems. My normal BP is low 100/60 so when it was 130/80 the doctor didn't pay any attention since it's not considered elevated to someone that has 120/80 for normal BP. I don't remember how high it went, I believe 130/85 but since my doctor wasn't paying attention, I took myself off of Vioxx and asked to go on one of the older NSAID's. It's to bad I moved and my old doc doesn't know how right I was. I'm just glad they pulled it off the market since so many people have had BP and heart problems from it. I'm just very angry that it wasn't done much sooner. There has been a lot of evidence pointing to the dangerous side effects, and as far as I'm concerned the FDA took way to long pulling it. a > a, when you went off Vioxx, did you switch to another anti- > inflamatory and did your blood pressure stay normal? Guest guest
My understanding is that all of the cox2s have the potential to increase blood pressure, but no other studies HAVE BEEN DONE YET which show any of the others cause the same jump in cardiovascular event risk that the Vioxx study showed.
